So in honor of the launch of www.superlula.com, I am going to give away one item from my website to a random person. What item you ask? Thats the awesome thing- its winner's choice. So if you are the person who's name gets pulled from the hat, you can choose anything you want. Cool right?
This will take about 2 seconds of your time. Share www.superlula.com on your facebook wall, and then leave me a comment on my fb post to let me know that you have shared. Super easy. Go do it now. I'll select a winner on Sunday March 16, so GO. DOOOO EEEET.

At long last, my website!
My website is finally complete! Ahh! I made it myself, took all the pictures- super DIY style as always. Without any further ado, check me out at www.superlula.com!
I actually finished it right before I left for vacation, but wanted to wait until I was back before I announced it. Tommy and I just got back from a most excellent trip to California- 9 days in Los Angeles and Anaheim. We had awesome vegan food, went on The Price is Right (look for us on April 15! I'm in the back row wearing a green dress!), went to Universal studios, Disney, shopping, comedy, sight seeing, oh so much fun. So very needed in the dead of winter.
But here I am, back in the dead of winter.
Back to work. I wasn't able to make the Amherst Winter Market last week, but I will be there this Saturday, March 1st and at least one other Saturday in March.
One more time now, thats www.superlula.com!

Punxsutawney Phil says 6 more weeks
This weekend, Tommy and I worked our first event since the holidays. We joined the Amherst Winter Farmers Market, held indoors at the Middle School in Amherst, MA. It really was a lovelymarket! There was a great selection of fresh produce, cheeses, meats, local maple syrup, herbs, and a few other artists/crafters; they also offer workshops and we were treated to a live performance by The Suitcase Junket. He is this awesome one man band, who plays a guitar and a percussion setup made out of all kinds of cool stuff- an old gas can, an antique child's shoe, etc- and he does this crazy "throat singing" that you'd swear he was playing a musical instrument, but no, he's making that sound with his mouth! Really cool.
SuperLula will be back in Amherst on February 22nd after we return from vacation.

Internet Rabbitholing
I have a tendency to fall down the rabbit hole of the internet once in a while, when I find myself fixated on a particular thing. Internet rabbitholes- even if you're not familiar with the term, you are probably familiar with the act. Its like when you go on youtube to look up that one Duran Duran video and next thing you know you've been sitting there for an hour watching the best and worst of the 80s.
So the two sites I've been hooked on this last week are Modcloth and Etsy. I do have an etsy shop even though I haven't used it in a few years, and haven't even really looked at it until I started thinking that I should add some items to sell. WOW is it easy to get lost in all the handmade awesomness, and the craft supplies that inspire me and make me want to buy all of it.
I've also been swooning over these dresses on Modcloth, I want all of them and I keep going back every day to review, because I keep changing my mind on which is my favorite. I'm totally obsessed with these vintage style dresses, none of which are in my budget right now. All I want is to look like a vintage doll. I realized that its the collars that I'm most smitten with, so after a little digging, I realized that detachable collars exist and people sell them on Etsy!
I bought this one and this one. How freakin cute! I'm going to cute up all my shirts and dresses with them, until I can justify spending $50-$100 on a dress I don't need but reallyreallyreally want. More on that when they arrive!

I like Lena Dunham
Yesterday, while taking a break from working on the website, I turned to Netflix for entertainment. The film Tiny Furniture, written/directed/produced by Lena Dunham, had been sitting in my queue for a while, since whenever Katie Scenic recommended it to me. She is also the friend who turned me on to Girls, which I think is just great. It's such a cleverly written show about characters who remind you of people you have known, and not in a good way. I find myself relating to Dunham's character more frequently than I would like to.
So, the film felt like kind of a prequel to the show. Different but similar characters who embody narcissism, incompetence, and poor decision making as only entitled post-college, early-twenty something can. Its one of those quiet, slow paced indie dramas with no real plot. Even though it had some dull moments, I really, really enjoyed it and find myself still thinking about it today and feeling impressed by Lena Dunahm. If you like Girls, you'd probably enjoy this film too.

AAAAAND WE"RE BACK
Greetings and welcome to my first blog post for SuperLula 2.0! I can't continue with my other blog thats out there, because I can't remember my password. LAME.
So anyway, January has been a quiet month, and I've spent most of my time working on www.superlula.com . I'm creating the website myself and its just about ready to go, which is awesome. I am including a "Links" page that I would like to use as kind of a directory for all things/people local, creative and cool, so if you are a shop owner, crafter, artist of any kind etc, do leave me a comment with your web address.
Next week I will be vending at the Amherst Farmer's Market, at the Middle School in Amherst, MA. Hope to see ya there!
